Annual Dinner 2005

Message From The Patron YB Datuk David Teng Lung Chi

The School-Student or Teacher-Student relationship is very much the same as that of Master-Disciple. Our Asian culture teaches the children to show respect and gratitude to their parents. The same is expected of the students or disciples. They are forever indebted to their schools, teachers or masters for what they had learnt or received in terms of knowledge or skills, and more importantly, character building.

I am very pleased to note that the Old Boys of Sibu Sacred Heart School have maintained this tradition of remembering their Alma Mater. I am told that there are 2 Sacred Heart School Alumni Associations, one in Sibu and one in Kuching.

I am proud to be an Old Boy of Sacred Heart School and to be associated with its Alumni Association. My gratitude to the School and my former teachers is forever. I am also honoured to be invited to be the Patron for this year's Annual Dinner.

It is heartening to note that the SHS AA of Kuching is very active in organizing activities to foster fellowship among the Old Boys of Sacred Heart School who reside in Kuching. I would also like to commend them for their continual support in ensuring that Sacred Heart School continues to maintain its position as premier school so as to provide quality education for future generations.

Your contributions in complementing the Government's effort in the field of education are indeed very noble. Do keep it up!
